GSPC was developed using an intermediate version of the system to capture design requirements.
Initially, II and GSPC agreed an outline system design, based on the system in use at ASPC, but enhanced to provide dynamic data filtering using the in-browser database. GSPC then provided mock-up web pages to show how the system should appear.
XYZ Digital Map Company then created suitable mapping, using a combination of their own data, and data purchased from the Ordnance Survey.
Using this mapping, II converted GSPC's design mockup into a first-cut version of a working system that conformed to the agreed outline specification, running on II's own servers. At the same time, GSPC modified a development copy of their system to store, and search on, property coordinates.
Once this was done, II modified the first-cut system to search GSPC's development database.
At this point, GSPC could see the preliminary version of the system running with their data. In the light of this, they agreed with II the details of the functionality of the final system, and agreed the changes to the graphic design, and II duly implemented these changes for GSPC to test.
